Timely Decisions For Husbands And Wives Part 2

Timely Decisions For Husbands And Wives Part 2

Song of Solomon 2:15(KJV)
Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

Yesterday, we highlighted

  1. Communication destroyers
  2. Spiritual destroyers
  3. Financial destroyers and
  4. Jeru trip life destroyers

Today, we will continue from where we stopped.

2. Spiritual destroyers
I will like to share another little story from my past this morning.

In the year 1993, my parents decided that they have had their good share of rented apartments, so they decided to move us into a newly built house. This newly built apartment had several uncompleted aspect of it underway, but we (my elder brother and I) were very happy that the apartment was ours and in our parents name.

Our younger siblings didn’t share the same thoughts as ours (because of maturity then). They were always asking when we were going back to our rented apartment and we would always tell them the house didn’t belong to our parents.

Apparently, the aesthetic aspect of the house was not close to perfection at that time, coupled with the fact that we were faced with the challenge of moving into a new neighborhood, which was more like a country side sort of neighborhood.

Although the environment was peaceful, we were rudely visited by unknown creatures that could be classified as havoc wreckers in the smallest and tinniest form; Termites.

As at then, I had never heard of these creatures before, but all I saw was that our wooden window frame was covered with sand like growth and after sometime, the window frame was depleted in quality.
It took a quick fumigation intervention by my parents to salvage our newly built house from this small but dangerous creatures.

The above scripture talks about small foxes that spoil the vines.

When time is no longer created on a daily basis to jointly lift up your voice in prayers unto God as a family, watch out; tiny spiritual life spoilers are likely at work.

These dangerous destroyers can be masked by busy schedule on both sides, needles arguments and fights, failure to establish an agreement on joint prayers, and so on.

The power that lies in joint prayers of the husband and wife is tremendous in nature, especially when it is done in the absence of strife.

You are mostly likely going to agree on issues relating to how your family can progress, so the only thing left is to pray(ask).

Matthew 18:19(KJV)
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Closely related to prayer failure is failure to study the word of God. Studying the word of God together will be very helpful but sometimes due to different work schedule, we might not be able to study together.

We should at least, try to confess the word together daily, then study on an individual level at convenient periods.

As couples, do everything to ensure you engage the tool of daily prayers and study, to rid your home of spiritual life spoilers in the family.

Your marriage will be beautiful in Jesus name.

To be continued.

I make right decisions in my marriage daily.

I receive illumination and wisdom to build my home in Jesus name.

Will your current way of life make your marriage better?

Make deliberate efforts to make your marriage better.
