Bad Roads You Should Avoid In Your Life’s Journey

Bad Roads You Should Avoid In Your Life’s Journey

It’s story time.

Once upon a time…

Thames and James were buddies and have been friends for about 5 years.
They usually did things together and people often asked about the one from the other.
One day, both of them had a job interview to show up for in another city so they planned to go a day before.

On their way to the park, they met an old friend of James who didn’t know Thames. They all got introduced and in the euphoria of the excitement, the new guy decided to treat them at a fancy restaurant.

Thames immediately refused saying, they had to be on their way. However, James convinced him that just a little time together will not be harmful. So off they went.
Unfortunately for them, it was already too late to catch a bus that day after having a nice treat. So they went down a particular road, to this guy’s place and slept over, hoping to leave as early as possible the next morning.

But alas! That didn’t happen.

What road was it that they went down through?

This scripture gives us a clue:

Romans 12:3 (AMP) For by the grace (unmerited favor of God) given to me I warn everyone among you not to estimate and think of himself more highly than he ought [not to have an exaggerated opinion of his own importance], but to rate his ability with sober judgment, each according to the degree of faith apportioned by God to him.

1. Avoid the road of comparison: Even if you and another were born at the same time, you each have different destinies to fulfill. The Bible likens those who compare themselves to another as not wise, that is, as fools

2. Avoid the road of wrong association: Thames could have left but he didn’t want to leave his friend behind. Eh ya, hot love!

Who are you associated with? Are you like minds? If the brother or sister isn’t seeing it the way you are seeing it, you better run fast. There is nothing like we will manage it like that in destiny o.

3. Avoid the road of uncertainty: God is not an author of confusion. Has he ordered you in a particular direction? Don’t take the other one that seems like it. The journeys are very different!

Apparently the new friend was a thief and just took advantage of that opportunity. He robbed them of all their belongings and left. It was later they discovered that they had missed the opportunity of a lifetime! If only…

4. Avoid the road of familiarity: That you attend the same church does not mean he is a lover of God. That she sings in the choir does not mean she is the perfect match.

That you attended the same Sunday school does not mean his fruits are abiding. Know the intent of the heart through the help of the Holy Spirit.

5. Avoid the road of shallowness: Be rooted and grounded in your core principles.
Are you easily swayed by people’s opinions? Can just anybody bump into your life and dictate what you should do for you?

It’s so sad that many youths don’t have any iota of sense of direction. Anything goes! I am not saying you should be rigid and stubborn, but then, know what you are doing within the confines of the standard of God’s word!

What other road do you think they should have avoided?
