Cars And Relationships

I remember!
It was quite some years back!
Someone related to me had just bought a new car, and paid my family a visit, and I was saddled with the duty of washing the car. You can relate if you are the last guy in the house… hehehehe.
So I went about my duty, happily… you know washing new cars can be quite interesting.

Some moments down the line I stopped in my tracks.
What was I seeing?
I looked again, my eyes were not deceiving me. They were there. Scratches!
Scratches on this new car too?

Then it dawned on me: [almost] all cars have scratches here and there, dents here and there, some may just have way more visible scratches and dents than others.

And it dawned on me again: these cars still go about fulfilling purpose, regardless of the scratches and dents on their bodies.
They don’t allow the scratches and dents go beyond their bodies to begin affecting their internal functionality.

And it dawned on me yet again: if only every human being can learn and do likewise!

Regardless of the external troubles coming your way, don’t let them affect your internal functionality!
Those trials can dent your body, but don’t let them crush your spirit!

Two scriptures are coming into my heart right now.

“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.”
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NLT

Oh! We are a kind of breed!
Troubles come, but they don’t crush us!
We can get knocked down here and there, but we are never knocked out!

We’ll take the next Scripture with the passion translation.

“So no wonder we don’t give up. For even though our outer person gradually wears out, our inner being is renewed every single day.”
2 Corinthians 4:16 TPT

We don’t give up! Why? Because we don’t allow the circumstances outside, whatever they may be, affect our inner being.
We allow only the truth of God’s Word be the food of our inner man.

You may be passing through a lot right now; this is a message to you to just hold on. You will not be crushed. Keep your spirit under the influence of God’s Word and His Spirit, not under the trouble, and you will be just fine.

Okay. To babes and boos.
Listen to me.
Your relationship may/will be rocked here and there by things like temperamental differences, cultural differences, etc.
These differences will give the relationship scratches and dents here and there.

But you must not allow them to crash you guys. Don’t allow the scratches get into the internal functionality of your relationship. Learn to love beyond the scratches!

The differences I’m talking about are not habitual sins, addictions, and bad habits! The differences are things like ‘she loves her car arranged, while he doesn’t mind having the foot mat on the seats.’
Please if he slaps you, let the slap move you towards the exit sign!

Troubles do not break me; they make me! I live and love beyond the scratches!

Lord teach me to dance upon disappointments, troubles, etc.

The scratches and dents on cars don’t stop them from living life and fulfilling purpose. My scratches should not stop me too.

Recall the current disappointments, troubles, pressures, etc, and dance upon them in worship and thanksgiving.

2 Corinthians 4:7-18
