Could This Be Why I’ve Not Gotten It Yet?

It was a wonderful time is God’s presence on Sunday as Rev Dunamis continued his teaching on “The God that Does Hard Things”

In his teaching, he gave us some points that often limit God from doing those hard things in our lives.

One of the point was ‘Age and Capacity’ and we’ll be looking at it from the lenses of relationships.

God loves us so much and because of that love, He won’t give us more than we can handle, so it doesn’t destroy us.

My brother, I know you’ve been trusting God to enlighten the eyes of your understanding, so you can behold the sister.

My sister, I know you’ve been praying, even spiced the prayer with every kind of fast imaginable. You even consistently confess God’s word, so that the brother will come speedily and not tarry.

All these things are good and wonderful. The praying, the fasting and all. But if you’re not ready, or mature enough, your heavenly father, out of love will not at that moment bring the brother or sister your way, so you don’t mess up.
Rather, the first thing He will do is to build up your capacity and help you get mature, so He can give you what you desire.

To build capacity, we have our role to play and likewise God has a role to play. So it is important we cooperate with the Holy Spirit.

How then can I build up Capacity? A major way is to read and get Knowledge.

Proverbs 24:5, GW
A strong man knows how to use his strength, but a person with knowledge is even more powerful

Hosea 4:6, KJV
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Someone once defined knowledge as something that you “know” that gives you an “edge” over others.
Refuse to be ignorant, let God’s word dwell richly in you. God’s word I believe is the most important book ever written, and this is because God’s words are not just letters, they are life. When you read them, the very life and wisdom of God is being transmitted into you. The word of God is food, it gives nourishment to us and causes growth.

1 Peter 2:2, KJV
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

Reading should not only be limited to scriptures. Get books by trusted authors; get their books on relationship and marriage.

People often say that marriage is the only institution that you are awarded the certificate before you start learning. Well, I don’t believe it’s totally true. Yes, you might not be able to learn in a practical sense, but you’ll be able to learn from others that have been married.

When you read books, you are learning from their experiences, they can tell you the mistakes they made to prevent you from making those same mistakes and choices.

Get books on love languages, temperaments, finance. The money issue is one of the major sources of problems in a relationship and marriage, if not handled properly.

One major difference between a child and a fully mature person is in the way they think, that is why reading is good because it helps shape our thinking.

Acts 20:32
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Reading helps to develop the mind. Understanding the written word is one way the mind grows in its ability.

I pray God grants us more understanding.
