Divorce – A Yes Or A No

This is a controversial topic. A lot of people have lots of questions about this subject and a lot of school of thoughts have risen giving their own view point on the subject.

I know we have to give room for protecting our lives in an abusive relationship and separation, in cases of violence may be a better option.

But let us look at Gods best option and what He has to say.

We know God has given us His word as our instructor and the Holy Spirit as our Guide, Teacher and one who leads us (if we follow Him).

Mat 19:8 KJV

He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

Gods best may not always be what men choose (that is why not all men are born again or choose God) and essentially because two people are involved.

The issue of divorce may not be an absolute one.

Mal 2:14 KJV

Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet [is] she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.

Let’s deal with what can lead us to thinking about divorce.

One of the main causes of divorce is when the husband deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.

I sincerely feel for those whose marriages are going through a turbulent time. I pray that the Prince of peace will speak His peace into such marriages.

The things that make you ever think of divorce, God will turn it to things that make you laugh in Jesus name.

We need to constantly work on our marriage and not take it for granted.

The little things we take for granted have the capacity to lead us to divorce if not careful. I pray this is not our portion in Jesus name.

Two things to take note in our marriage

1. Let not our busy life and schedule, separate family life.

Most family members live life separately. If we don’t do something drastic, this modern day life is not targeted at making families stay together. Make conscious efforts to do things together as couples.

2. Being distant Emotionally.

The soulish realm is important in binding couples together. So make sure you are connected to your spouse.
Make constant deposits into your spouse’s emotional account.
Know what is happening in their lives.
Don’t be strangers or far/distant from one another.

God bless our family and marriages
