Cynthia and I started making plans on how we would attend the popular deliverance programme which is usually being organized by a certain denomination on the first Saturday of every month.
The funny part was that we heard the news from a family house member thirty seconds before setting up our own ad hoc planning committee (of course, we were the committee members).
The fact that the ride was going to be a free one motivated us (our morale was very high sha) and so we finally did make up our minds on going. That was it!!
Two unengaged ladies going for a programme without any thoughts as regards any baby that will need breast milk at odd hours of the day or one husband that you will have to seek permission from because it is no longer’ two’ but ‘one’.
I am not saying that being accountable to somebody else is not a good thing. As a matter of fact, I look forward to getting married but my point is this: while you are still unmarried, enjoy the status.
After marriage, you cannot just make decisions in thirty seconds because there will be a lot of other factors to be considered as a married person.
It will not just be about you anymore; it will be about you and other people (maybe three or four or ten other people depending on how large you have imagined your future family to be) that will be attached to you.
The joy of being unmarried is that you can decide to go solo and not feel burdened about it. If you are still unmarried and you are probably wishing that you were married, do not be in so much of a hurry to get married that you forget the joy of being unmarried; the joy of getting to do your own thing (legal things o).
Savour the moment because the unmarried status can only be attained once in a lifetime.
Have godly fun, develop an intimate relationship with God (this is very pivotal for a successful marriage), develop yourself, prepare thoroughly for the married life while waiting because it will come in handy much later in the future and joyfully reflect on your current season.
Oh! Cynthia and I had solid fun at the program by the way and Cynthia is a mother of one now. smiles
