How Not To Let Down Your Guard As A Single

How Not To Let Down Your Guard As A Single

End of the year Fasting and Prayers have begun. Go HERE for more details.

Have you ever learnt something for the first time and you instantly feel like you are so good at it? Like let them bring anything, I will finish it today? Lol.

It’s a good place to be actually but the truth is most times, we still require more practice.

Nobody becomes that good, just like that. Except, well, maybe you were born with inherent super powers like the black panther, superman and the likes.

That is why, in this Christian life we are living in, we need to constantly and continually practice a listening ear to the one God has given us to make this life easier for us, that is the person of the Holy Spirit.

Trust me, if you really want to live your life to the fullest, according to God’s plan and purpose, you cannot do without the Holy Spirit.

Those of you that don’t have the Holy Spirit, please I would love to know how you are doing it o. And please don’t even say you are Jesus Christ or John the Baptist because even Jesus, needed the Holy Spirit!

You want to know why you have to partner with the spirit of God? Oya let me show you.

Joshua 9:14-16 (TLB) Joshua and the other leaders finally believed them. They did not bother to ask the Lord but went ahead and signed a peace treaty. And the leaders of Israel ratified the agreement with a binding oath. Three days later the facts came out—these men were close neighbors…

I didn’t want to put a lot of verses there so you will not say I am preaching. But the background of that story is that Joshua and the children of Israel just conquered a lot of territories by the hand of Jehovah. So of course they were relaxed to gather the spoils of battle.

On the other hand, some guys who felt threatened by their conquest, the Gibeonites, decided to deceive them just to get their favour.

And our papa Joshua and the other leaders fell for it! Just like that!

A bad situation needs prayer we know, but as a matter of fact, a good situation needs more prayer! Why? Because the devil is not even here to joke with you. That guy means serious business.

So that you are God’s perfect will for each other, chasing demons to the pit of hell and winning every battle, does not mean, you should be relaxed.

Uncle, Gibeonites can come in form of lady friends. They know you are in a relationship but will still be hovering around you like humming birds. Hmm…be discerning.

Aunty, Gibeonites can be those demonic friends giving you all sorts of negative advice that are contrary to the word of God.

You have 2 legs right? Run, Run, Run, Run!

Don’t let some people come and use baby face to pack your stew with their bread.

Another lesson in that story is that, sometimes, people you respect too can be sincerely wrong. Joshua himself, who was God’s spokesman at that time, didn’t even think about consulting God before taking a decision.

So don’t be so rigid. That it went in a particular direction does not mean it will be like that till thy Kingdom comes.

Be led every step of the way.

You are helped of God.
