Sade is a Christian who loves God. She is a faithful tither and a diligent worker in the house of God.
She prays…infact she is “a prayee”
If you hear her tongues and the passion with which she prays, you will be wishing for her kind of praying anointing.
She fasts, she reads her bible, she doesn’t miss fellowship.
Still nothing seems to be working. It seems as if most of her prayers are being left unanswered.
She has been trusting God for her relationship, but nothing has been happening…no brother has been coming. The same thing is happening in her finances too.
One day while she was in church listening to her pastor preaching, she realized where she had been missing it.
She had always been making negative confessions, negative declarations and statements. She did not realize how powerful word were.
She had been praying for finances and her God ordained spouse, but her confessions after her prayers were negating her prayers, so she had not been seeing results.
This morning, I would love us to remember that the words we say are powerful. Never take it for granted.
Take a look at what our father God did.
Genesis 1:2-3, GNB
“the earth was formless and desolate. The raging ocean that covered everything was engulfed in total darkness, and the Spirit of God was moving over the water. Then God commanded, “Let there be light”—and light appeared.”
The earth was formless. It was desolate, more like a waste land. It didn’t just say that there was darkness, it says that there was total darkness. Everything was not in good shape.
The way God responded to this was to call forth light. The words that came out of God’s mouth was not dependent on the external circumstances.
Don’t let your words be determined by external factors or by what is happening around you. Let it be determined by what God has said in His word.
Never go about saying things like “I am broke”, “I don’t have money”, “I am sick”. Yes these may be facts, but they will never negate the truth of God’s word.
God’s word says let the weak say I am strong.
Learn to superimpose the truth of God’s word over every fact.
Get God’s word and put it in your mouth.
Words are spirits, and Spirits don’t die.
Words have creative power. God created the world with words and because we are made in His image, to an extent we can also create and shape our realities with our words.
Deliberately and diligently spend time in scriptures, meditate on God’s word and let God’s word dwell richly in you.
May God grant us more understanding in the name of Jesus.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I am not careless with my words. I speak God’s plans and God’s mind over my life.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Lord, Grant me the grace to spend time and be consistent with your word.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16, KJV)
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Make a list of all that you’re trusting God for in the New Year. Deliberately take time out to find them out in scriptures and confess them.
