How To Love Your Spouse With Commitment

How To Love Your Spouse With Commitment

There are times when every thing just seems flat.

You know those times when God seems to have gone on holiday.

Those times when God seems to be silent.

When you are trusting God for some things and you have done all that you need to do.

Those times you need to “wait”, and you know waiting period could look like forever.

It is easier to love your spouse when everything is going on well.

When there are a few Millions or even a few hundreds of thousands in the account and you can afford to spoil your spouse.

When the business is booming and you don’t have anything troubling your heart.

But our love for our spouse should be unconditional.

Our love should not be based on how good our situation or circumstances are.

Some wives are too temperamental and get all worked up when there is financial crisis.

Some husbands are given to worries when they are expecting things to work out.

Our contention should be to love our spouse despite what we are going through.

Our love should be unfailing and unchanging.

The only way we can love like that is when we love ourselves with a commitment that is more than mere words.

Part of the marriage vows we declared on our wedding day was to love our spouse ‘ for Better for worse”.

That is a love with commitment.

No matter what you are facing right now, know that God is a covenant keeping God.

He respects covenant and keeps covenant.

He will honour our commitment to each other as covenant partners.

It is at such times as this couples can go into prayer of agreement and sincerely put their trust in God, they will see the hand of God.

Trusting God at low moments in our lives strengthens the marriage the more and shows us that we are in the marriage for the long haul.

Let us as couples tighten up our commitments to each other and as we do so the Lord will send reinforcement to us out of Zion.

Psa 20:2
Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;

Psa 20:2 (MSG)
Send reinforcements from Holy Hill, Dispatch from Zion fresh supplies,

Psa 20:2 (amp)
Send you help from the sanctuary and support, refresh, and strengthen you from Zion;

God bless your marriage.
