How To Preserve Your Relationship

How To Preserve Your Relationship

Boo: what have I done again?

Bae: oh, you don’t know?

Boo: If I do, will I be asking you?

Bae: That’s the issue. You never realize your faults.

Boo: That’s not the issue. The issue is you never tell me what I do, yet you keep complaining. Am I a wizard?

Bae: Oh, so I am a witch now ehn?

Boo: (turns to himself) oh my God, I’m in for it today.

Bae: So my question has no answer ba? I am now a radio without batteries! I am the nag. I am the bad person. I am the one with all the flaws right?

Boo: That’s not exactly what I am say…

Bae: …(cuts him) I perfectly know what you are saying…

They can go back and forth, arguing over irrelevances.

The major issue here is that bae hadn’t totally healed from her past relationships, before beginning a new one.

Matt 9:17 KJV
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

You don’t put new wine in old bottle, nay!

If you want to enjoy your new relationship, ensure you are healed from your past relationship.

One way you do this is not to rush into a new relationship after your break up.

Here on KHC, we recommend a period of six months between your last and new relationship.

Truth is you are hurt. No matter how hard you try to hide it.

Even if your last relationship was just 2 days old, you must have invested something into it…time, energy or even data…lol

So take your time.

Go through the healing process, so you don’t become a burden to your next.

Don’t try to get back at your ex by jumping into another relationship, it is not worth it.

Your ex is now in the past, let him/her remain there. When you rush into a new relationship, without being healed of past hurts and bitterness, your partner bears the brunt.

After a break up, you are free to cry…yes, you read well.

Cry if you must.

Read books.

Talk to a respected mentor.

Forgive yourself and forgive your ex

Re-evaluate the relationship, then

Trust God for what he is set to do.

Your relationship will not suffer in Jesus name.

My relationship will not suffer

Lord, heal me completely of past hurts.

Isaiah 43:18 (KJV) Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Forgive anyone who has hurt you before.
