I Am Glad He Loves Weddings

I Am Glad He Loves Weddings

Yes He loves attending weddings and would love to be a part of yours too!

Have you ever wondered like me why it seems this marriage thing is overrated?

Well I guess it’s because it is more spiritual than physical and like we know, the spiritual controls the physical.

It would interest you to know that the first place ever where God revealed His power was at a wedding. As in ordinary ‘owambe’ as it is called in this side of the world.

John 2:1-11 (NLT)
[1]The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,
[2]and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration.
[3]The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.”
[4]“Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.”
[5]But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
[6]Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons.
[7]Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” When the jars had been filled,
[8]he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions.
[9]When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over.
[10]“A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!”
[11]This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

Some of the few things to learn in this passage:

1. The couple invited the real VIP who eventually prevented them from seeing shame. I don’t even want to imagine what would have happened if Jesus wasn’t at the wedding.

Let Jesus be the author and finisher of your love life. He knows what is best for you and can make it available. And when He makes it available, it comes just right in time.

2. Even though, Jesus sounded as though He wasn’t interested in the wine issue, Mary knew that He cared too much for Him not to care!

Mary could know the mind of Christ because she had a personal relationship with Him.
Do you understand what God is saying or not saying in times like this?

Or you try to argue with Him concerning what you think is right for you at a particular time?

Mary didn’t even insist as a mother… She just got up to align to the miracle.

Some people have even fixed date, time, year of wedding by fire by force. Well it’s a good step of faith but then has Jesus been invited?

3. The servants obeyed the instructions given to them despite the fact that it didn’t make sense.

It wasn’t like the water was already wine o when they were taking it to the Master of Ceremony.

It was in the mouth of the Master of Ceremony that the water became wine.

Are you willing to go with God all the way or it is only when it makes human sense?

God is more interested in your relationship or marriage than you are.

But as a perfect gentleman, He won’t come in without being invited.

Then when He does come in, you have to trust Him to lead you right! Selah!

My relationship and marriage will be a delight to God

Lord Jesus, forgive my ignorance. Help me to see that you care about everything concerning me
