It Is Very Okay To Be Vulnerable

Mrs Dauda: Thanks dear for having me around today. I just wanted to be sure you are OK. Besides the Holy Spirit prompted me to come check you.

Bimpe: I am really grateful ma. I really admire the relationship you have with this your Holy Spirit. So what can I offer you ma?

Mrs Dauda: Oh don’t bother my dear. You should get plenty of rest instead.

Bimpe: Please mummy let me bother. I made fried rice.

Mrs Dauda: Oh really? Wow. Pls with all pleasure let me have some. You know I have never known how to make that dish. Please can you teach me?

Bimpe: (trying not to act surprised). Mama you mean you can’t cook fried rice?

Mrs Dauda: (Smiling). No I can’t my dear.

Bimpe: Alright ma, I will teach you with all pleasure.

Mrs Dauda: God bless you daughter.

You see one of the things that is fast fading away in our generation is the ‘allowance’ to be vulnerable.

Everybody is being pressured to be something or somebody and social media is not even helping matters.

These days, when friends ask of you, it is much more to know your social status rather than your actual well being.

Questions like: Where are you now? What are you doing? You are now Mrs what? Where are you living? Which program are you running? Who do you know? Where is your car? What can you do? etc. Sadly, even those in the ministry are not spared!

Should we not aim to be better? Should we not be top notch in our endeavors? Of course not!

Please by all means have sense and be excellent at what you do but not at the expense of your own fulfillment.

Understand that you are not in the same race with people. I know it’s hard but God’s grace is more than sufficient enough for you.

It’s okay to be at level 1 while others are in level 5, as long as you don’t remain there.

It’s okay to master the art of crawling with direction while others are flying with no direction.

It’s okay to start with the kobo in your account on your way to having multiple of billions while others seem to be making the millions right away.

But I must balance it by also saying, celebrate people who have achieved what you are still dreaming about. Don’t be an hater. You can’t attract what you don’t admire.

Life will always come with its ups and downs. Nothing is certain, only God is. Let every other thing be a liar and let only God be true!

2nd Corinthians 4:8 & 9 (GNT) We are often troubled, but not crushed; sometimes in doubt, but never in despair;
there are many enemies, but we are never without a friend; and though badly hurt at times, we are not destroyed.

So it’s okay to be vulnerable but don’t stay vulnerable. If you can, get avenues to be better. Bring down your shoulder pad and learn or relearn if you have to.

Some people are so confident even in their ignorance. No matter your status, if you know that thing is vital to your ultimate growth, please go for it. It will not reduce anything from you, rather it will add more value to you.

Why wait till you ‘enter bush’ or sambisa forest before you use Google Map?

And to all teachers out there, I mean those who will at one point or the other be privileged to pass down a part of your knowledge, please do so with the fear of God.

Your destiny helper could be your student. Your spouse could be in your class or even related to someone in your class.

Finally, we are all vulnerable to God whether we accept it or not and the earlier we accept it, the better for us.

Live your life like you need Him every moment because you actually do. You know the way you misbehave around your lover? Lol…God is the lover of your soul, lover like no other.

2nd Corinthians 4:16-18 (GNT) For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day.
And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble.
For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever.

Singles, have sense with your vulnerability! There is more to you!

Today’s devotional is really motivating for me. It’s true that questions about personal achievements is mostly asked about friends and families especially those who think they’re performing so well. But I’ve learnt today that running according to God’s grace provided to is better than racing with the achieved horse. It’s ok to be vulnerable in as much as I’m still on God’s Map. Thank you very much. God bless you.
