Belshazzar had an open vision and none of the wise men in his kingdom could interpret it. He was so disturbed that his mother had to come out to explain to him that ‘look son, don’t bother yourself, there is a man who can handle this and his name is Daniel…send for him’.
Daniel 5:11 (NLT) says There is a man in your kingdom who has within him the spirit of the holy gods. During Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, this man was found to have insight, understanding, and wisdom like that of the gods.
Your predecessor, the king—your predecessor King Nebuchadnezzar—made him chief over all the magicians, enchanters, astrologers, and fortune-tellers of Babylon.
In that verse, you will notice that Daniel was relevant in the time of Belteshazzar’s predecessor, Nebuchadnezzar.
If you read the chapters following further, Daniel was even still much more relevant in the time of Belshazzar’s successor, Darius.
What am I saying? Have it at the back of your mind that being in a relationship should not affect your relevance.
Well that is if you let God lead you to choose right, anyway. Being married should not make you useless either.
It usually baffles me how some married people get all so busy that they give excuses for not having time for the things of God again.
And the irony now is that, the single ones are postponing working for God till they are married!
Now someone will argue that Daniel was a single man joor…yes I agree but then Daniel was a youth. And that relates to most of us at least.
Some young people get into relationships and they don’t even know their parents again. Some others don’t listen to their pastors or spiritual mentors anymore.
There are even ladies who will pause everything in their lives all because ‘my man will take care of me’. This should not be, young people.
Be so full of capacity that you can answer the numerous questions your children will ask you in the nearest future.
Psalms 92:14 (NLT) says Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.
Please choose right. If it takes you waiting some more, please do.
Don’t marry someone that will bury your destiny.
You yourself, be an asset.
Wrong association can damage one’s purpose. May that not be our portion in Jesus’ name.
