Now That You Are Married

Now That You Are Married

Yes, now that you are married, what next? Marriage is the only institution you enter into, and collect the certificate before you start learning. You become a Mr or Mrs and then start learning practically how to become a proper Mr or Mrs. You get married and you start learning about how to behave as a wife or husband.

You learn how to accommodate your in-laws and manage their excesses if they have any and still get along well. It’s after your wedding day you begin to understand what it means to be submissive to a man. It’s after wedding you fully know what it means to love a lady as your own body and to cherish her forsaking all other.

I always tell ladies and guys, what you refused to learn as a single you have to learn as a married person. If for example as a single lady, you do not like house chores and do not manage to see it as a necessary part of your work, you will have to learn it in marriage

If as a single you lack manners and self control, you talk anyhow, go anywhere and just throw all caution to the wind, you will soon learn that this cannot work in marriage.

There are some habits that are anti marriage. They will make the marriage a struggle. You can’t be a competitive person for example and expect a blissful marriage. You cannot be selfish, self centered, unforgiving, angry, bitter, authoritative, hot tempered, lazy, too serious or insecure and expect the best of your marriage.

From this moment, start to intentionally work at being a better person and spouse. We are not just to do this in our strength and ability alone. Allow the Holy Spirit work in us. Convict us of sin and show us any wrong way. The Holy Spirit by the word of God will teach us His ways and the Lords’ Mercy will see us through as long as we are ready and willing.

God bless your marriage

I learn how to behave myself wisely in marriage

Lord, teach me what I need to know for my marriage to be blissful.

Now that am married I have to behave as a good spouse to enjoy marital bliss.
