Questions to Ask in September

Questions to Ask in September

Wow.. How fast time flies, it’s already September, the ninth Month of the year.

I believe it’s a good time to evaluate how our 2019 has been so far.
Paul the Apostle, in his letter to the Corinthian church said this:

Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves [not Christ]. Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you–unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected? (2 Corinthians 13:5, MSG)

Ask yourself questions. Be honest and brutal with yourself if need be. I believe this will help us know our areas of weakness where we need to trust God for the strength that his Spirit gives. This is how you’ll be able to get better and improve. Here are some areas we can evaluate. The list is not exhaustive:

1. Your relationship with God – This is very important because it’s the foundation where every other thing rests upon.

Have I gotten closer to God this year?
Have I gotten to busy to spend quality time with him?
How is my prayer life?
How is my word life?
How often did I fast?

2. Your relationship with men – Men play a very important and vital role in our lives. Ask yourself:

Who are my friends?
Are they people that’ll encourage me to be the person God wants me to be?
Have they been influencing me positively or negatively.
Why am I in a relationship with the person I am with now (if you are in a relationship)?
Was I led by God into the relationship or I led myself, so I wouldn’t be the odd one amongst my friends.

3. Self/Capacity Development – we all know that God won’t give us more than we can handle, so we need to build capacity.
Ask yourself:

How many books have I read this year? Not novels or just any kinds of books.
Have I read books that’ll help me in relationships, finances, Leadership e.t.c.
Who have I prayerfully chosen to be my mentor?
How often do I learn from the wealth of their experience?
Do I share my challenges with them, so I can get their advice?

I’d like to stop here today, by saying no matter how 2019 has been so far, God can always cause a turn around.
He’s the only one that can turn a mess into a message and a test into a testimony.

If you’ve not done so we’ll in the last months, make up your mind to do better in the remaining months this year.

God’s grace will rest upon you in the name of Jesus, strength from above will rest upon you in the name of Jesus. This will indeed be a September to remember. God will cause a restoration of everything lost in the name of Jesus.

Have a beautiful month. Remember to be intentional this month.
