Seeing The Good In Your Marriage

It is very important what you see and how you see. Some others may call it perception.

I’m sure we are married to who we are married to, because along the line, we ‘saw’ or perceived that they are good for us. We fell in love with our spouse because we saw ‘something’ good in them.

It is important to keep on seeing this ‘good’ in them so that we can stay married to them.

I got married to my husband when he had very little, but praise God he had a big vision. I could see the vision and that was all that mattered to me. Of course he was also good looking, caring, a good leader and understanding.

Now, the visions that I saw then and all the good I saw in him, it is important that I keep seeing them.

In marriage, the reality is that a times life happens and we loose sight of those things we once acknowledged as beautiful and wonderful in our spouse.

At such times, what should we do?

When it looks like what we saw in them was fake or we were deceived.

That is the time we hold on tight to God and what we believed in our spouse.

Hab 2:3  For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

We might have seen a spouse who could make a great leader, a spouse who could be a great support or a spouse who could provide for us. Life happens and what we expect from them is far out of reach.

Is it time to begin to doubt the good we saw or even question God? Not at all.

It is time we hold on to the horns of the altar and cry out to God for a restoration of the things we once saw and all the good there is in our spouse.

Sometimes, there is a time lag in between what we see and the realization or materialization of those things.

This time of waiting is not the time to get our vision blurred but to get it sharpened in the place of constant fellowship with the Lord. In the place of prayers and waiting on the Lord, He will also show us what we can do to help.

Such times is not the time to nag, complain, correct harshly or have a negative attitude.

The vision will yet speak, wait for it for it shall not tarry. What you saw in your spouse when you got married is yet for an appointed time and it will not tarry.

God bless our marriage.

I continue to see good in my spouse no matter what.

Lord, let my eyes of understanding be enlightened that I may see as you see in every situation

Hab 2:3  For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Wait for the vision you have for your marriage.

Hab 2: 1-20
