The Big Question Is Can I Marry Me?

The Big Question Is Can I Marry Me?

Virtually everybody reading this has the desire to get married some day.

And if you are a lady, you most likely have thought about your wedding day… lol

The white flowing wedding gown. The sparkle in the eyes of your knight in shining armour. That moment he will slide the ring into your finger. And that you-may-now-kiss-the-bride moment!

Uh huh…Oh my God!

I can feel the butterflies flying in someone’s tummy… hehehe

What do the guys even dream about?

Anyway, as you dream, can you stop and ask yourself a vital question?

“Can I marry like this?”

In essence, what you are asking is:”Can I marry me?”

If you are to marry yourself, can you survive?

Can you survive marrying yourself… with those habits?Haba… fear God na!

Can you survive marrying yourself… with laziness (and lack of skill) in kitchen matters?
Can you survive marrying yourself… with your lack of humour?

Can you survive marrying yourself… with your unforgiving spirit?

Can you survive marrying yourself… with your sharp tongue?

Can you survive marrying yourself… with how you are on spiritual matters?

Can you survive marrying yourself… with the way you spend recklessly (lacking financial management)?

Can you survive marrying yourself… with your anger issues? How you will handle your kids?

I can go on and on…

As a wife, have you worked on yourself to become the suitable helpmeet that God created you to be?

As a man, have you given yourself the training required to fulfill the role of a husband, a lover, and a father?

Can you man the spiritual gate of your family effectively?

I’m talking to you… you planning to marry this year.

There are requirements for occupying every position in life.

I believe most of us must have seen a job advert. It usually comes with some requirements… and this disqualifies some persons.

Those requirements are needed to effectively handle that position.

Nobody is just permitted to serve in the King’s palace! There are requirements!

See this:

Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans. Daniel 1:3-4 NKJV

Can you see the kind of people required in the King’s palace?

You cannot enter the King’s service without meeting the requirements!

There are requirements to enter the marriage institution too!

Quick questions:

1. Do you know the requirements to enter the marriage institution?Do you know what it takes to run a successful home? (It’s not just Jeru trip!)

2. Could it be that God is holding you on because He wants to adequately train you before handing your lover to you, so that you don’t crash her/him?

3. Are you consciously giving yourself to the training, so as to meet the marriage requirements?

Think about these, as I’ll leave you with these words:

Training yourself for a particular office positions you to enter that office at the next job opening.

The Lord trains me to occupy my position in the marriage institution.

Open my eyes to the things I need to cleave from my life, and the ones I need to add to my life in order to meet the marriage requirements.

If you enter an office you cannot handle, you will crash that office, and it will crash on you!

Outline the things that will make you not to marry you… and start working towards becoming better
