The Frustration And Hopelessness Of A Newly Wedded Couple

The Frustration And Hopelessness Of A Newly Wedded Couple

All names appearing here are fictitious.

Mrs Tokunboh Allyson was overjoyed with the news of getting married, especially when settling down was a little bit of a challenge to her.

She is the first child and daughter and when her other siblings were already looking at marriage ahead, she had to make up her mind fast and also pick one out of her numerous suitors.

Of all her suitors, Bayo seems the coolest. He was level headed, calm, kind, intelligent and very caring. He also comes from a good home with all his elder ones already married, settled, rich and most of them abroad.

All things looked good and she was sure to make the marriage work. She thought of herself as a wonderful lady who loved life and enjoyed herself. She was the spark of any gathering and fun to be with.

She felt ready for marriage and who will not enjoy her company? She was also a good cook and an amazing home maker.

Well, those are the essential of marriage, so once again she felt double ready.

Bayo on his own part, felt it is high time he was settled. He was well over due for marriage. He felt he was a good dude. He had many friends because of his disposition to helping others and being there for his friends.

He could sacrifice for his friends. Girls also told him he was a good man.

He thought to himself, “I’m every girls dream man, I will definitely make a wonderful husband”.

Their courtship did not last for too long. It was more of a distant courtship as they were not in the same town.

So obviously, their weaknesses were not known to each other.

Bayo was still living with his mum. It was understandable, as the last born with an aged mother, he would stay with his mum.

Both Tokunboh and Bayo are nominal Christians who just go to church every once in a while. Tokunboh still has a heart for God but there were too many distractions.

Unlike Bayo who is not born again at all and thinks church is boring. He has always believed he could make his own decisions and had always rebelled in a subtle way against authority. That explains why he can not submit himself to any pastor. This was not so obvious. And yet he felt he was a good dude, ready for marriage.

Let’s get ready to hear the conclusion tomorrow, as we learn about their actual frustrations, now that they are married.

God bless our marriage.
