Top Five Valentine Traps Singles Should Avoid

If regrets can be logged, the ones that follow the Valentine day will be the highest ever. Be careful. As singles, these are traps you should avoid by all means.

1. Desperadoes Trap
This is when you are desperate to fall in love so that you are not alone by all means on the Valentine’s day.

Resolve to have somebody, anybody, with you on the Valentine day, you are probably making a mistake. There are many other Valentine day to be celebrated and yes, you are still very much alive, here on earth!

Moreover, spending the day with someone is not a license to any form of progress in your life except for the momentary feeling which often time expires in less than 24 hours.

2. The Depression Trap
Yes, all your friends are hanging out with one person on the other.

Social Media is bombarding your mind with savage posts and insensitive images, emojis and memes.

So, you tactically, gradually sulk yourself into depression.

Hey, be good to yourself.

If there is nobody to take you out, take yourself out!

There is nothing wrong with you, just that nobody worth your time has been found yet!

And you know what, you will eventfully find the person.

Valentine is just a 24-hours thing. It shouldn’t be strong enough to scatter your emotions and throw you into the depression pit.

3. The Comparison Trap
Sade is going out with her boo.

Ngozi is going out for a treat with her new found lover.

Spicy is having a lover’s treat at the lovers’ corner

Even Sister Comfort is going out for movies and pop-corn.

You are not Sade. You are not Ngozi. You are not Spicy. You are nor Sister Comfort. You are who you are, and you should never compare yourself with anybody around you.

2 Corinthians 10:12 (KJV)
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

4. The Rental Service Trap
It is not called “renting” but that is what it is! Don’t rent a lover for that day or allowed to be rented. It most often ends in some sexual rendezvous with accompanying regrets of course.

On that day, emotions are on overdrive, the environment is set, lust is in the air, perversion reeks all over and demon of lusts are in every street corner and junction.

Be careful with who you spend that night with.

Find a way to go and spend it with God.

Don’t lose your testimony because of Valentine’s day.

He is your true lover who will bring the real lover.

5. The Ex Trap
The Ex who has exited your life suddenly shows up days before valentine?

It is not because of love, it is because of memories of sinful escapades together and the ex wants to relive all that and then disappear again.

Don’t be fooled.

Don’t walk back into what God has delivered you from.

Don’t go back to your vomits.

Proverbs 26:11 (KJV)
As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

Galatians 5:1 (KJV)
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
