Walking And Talking In Marriage

One of my usual fascination in war movies is the use of the walkie talkie. Communicating well with a fellow soldier will help the team know what’s going on in every quarter and if you are a fan of these movies, you’ll copy that.

Communication is a very important necessity on a battle field. The strategists need to instruct those involved in combat. So also everyone needs to know how other member of the team is.

Vital information such as a sergeant has been wounded or cover has been blown would go a long way in helping to recoup and coming up with a back up plan.

So also in marriage, communication is a vital factor. It’s wrong to think that what sustains a marriage relationship is Bible study, fasting, prayer and other spiritual exercises, (although we cannot rule out their significance) but there is more to it.

GEN 11:6 (KJV) The LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Every marriage needs the walkie talkie as well because communication is key.
Your spouse needs to be carried along all through the sail.

Communication in every home should be handled like two soldiers on a battle field, whose lives hangs on the information they give and get from their partner.

A conscious effort has to be made at every point in time to reach out as you cannot always assume that things are fine with your partner.

Asking questions and speaking are great bypasses to keeping the fire in your home burning

The goal of the enemy is usually the breach in communication, creating a dysfunctional pattern of not being able able to express your thoughts to your partner, help you store up dislikes and tag errors that you could have discussed and resolve easily.

Be wise in your dealings. Use the walkie talkie. I’m guessing the reason these two verbs are placed side by side is so you know there is a need to walk things out as well as talk thing out, but without the talk, you won’t be able to walk through the marriage unbruised.

God bless our homes.

I don’t allow the enemy’s foothold in my marriage.

Pray that the enemy will not distort communication in your marriage.

Communication is also a weapon of war

Make a conscious effort to communicate with you spouse
