While We Are Waiting

While We Are Waiting

Many couples at different times have had to wait on God for various needs and desires of their lives. Some have delay in getting jobs, having a comfortable place to lay their heads, having children etc.

This can sometimes be overwhelming especially with the kind of society we find ourselves today. Everyone seems to be in a self-inflicted race and situations look like they all have a standard.

There are pressures everywhere. Everyone seems to have an opinion on how you should live your life. Many of us are now lost in this opinion of people about us and the milestone we should be achieving at that moment. This ought not to be.

Waiting period is temporal, hence its name—waiting. It is just a season between when you have not and when you have. This is a period that should not be spent in vanity or unnecessary worry and anxiety. The waiting period is not an easy one so it is only expected we look for ways to make it easier rather than complicating issues.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

What should we do during our waiting season?

1. Hang it on God.
When you get a new appliance with a warranty and it develops a fault, it is in your best interest to take it back to the manufacturer through the channel you got it from. Leaving it at the mercy of just any technician may do more harm than good. You would not want to leave it to chance.

You should do the same for your life. Take it back to God and leave it there. Trust Him absolutely for a solution.

2. Get into the Word.
Look for passages of the Bible that talks about that particular situation and put the Word to work. Read, study, meditate and memorize the Scriptures. What you feed on is what you eventually become.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. (Joshua 1:8)

3. Surround yourself with positive energy.
Don’t give chance for pity party. Don’t give room for triggers that will make your situation look like it so bad. Stay away from people with negative vibes.

4. Get active.
Spend your time doing what you love. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Read books, play instruments, engage in charity work etc.

Whatever situation you are in now, it is for but just a moment. Be in charge of your self, take charge of your life.

I depend solely on God. He will settle me in due time.

Lord Jesus, I ask that you help me through this waiting period. I choose to wait on you and I will not be disappointed(Amen)

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Very apt. Trust God for who he is, and you would see him come through for you.
